The subliminals are messing me up. You know how to bring out emotion through your words brother.

Thank you for saying that ! I was so gripped by her performance that I felt physically ill from the tension.

" Stepping out of a filmed world " the lines hits so hard . However the whole poem is sagacious.

Very insightful.

There is a strong resonance here, of Shakespeare’s Hamlet

- all the world is a stage, and we upon it merely players

(I paraphrase)

It also carries echoes of the strange atmosphere of circus

Part real, part illusion

Part entertainment, part hypnotic, part hidden threat.

I’d be interested in what the last line means to you?

Or perhaps, like a good performer, you would prefer just to vanish - with a swirl and flash of crimson, under an all concealing, enveloping cloak.

Thank you, Grey. I truly appreciate your comment. It means a lot that you dived deep into the atmosphere I created through my writing.

Shakespeare’s Hamlet is a constant source of inspiration for me, especially that thin line between illusion and reality. As for my last line, "But I am not part of your audienceā€-it signifies that while the performer owns her stage, I feel no need to be a part of the spectacle.

My pleasure.

I thoroughly enjoyed your piece…

…and recognise the quiet artistry and craft that went into it.

Best Wishes
